Overview

About this adventure

The Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the world’s most iconic high-altitude trekking adventures, taking you deep into the Himalayas of Nepal to the base of the highest mountain on Earth, Mount Everest (8,848.86 m). Starting from the small mountain airstrip at Lukla, the route winds through dramatic valleys, suspension bridges, Sherpa villages, Buddhist monasteries, and alpine landscapes inside Sagarmatha National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). This trek is not just a physical journey but also a cultural immersion into the lifestyle of the Sherpa people, who have lived in these mountains for centuries. You pass through vibrant settlements like Namche Bazaar (the gateway to Everest), spiritual centers like Tengboche, and high-altitude settlements such as Dingboche and Lobuche, gradually acclimatizing as you ascend toward the legendary Everest Base Camp. The landscape changes dramatically—from green forests of rhododendron and pine to barren, icy moraine fields. The highlight for many trekkers is the sunrise view from Kala Patthar, offering one of the closest and most spectacular panoramic views of Mount Everest.
